Candy Hearts

Pointer Finger: Essie - turquoise & caicos
Thumb: Sinful Colors - Thimbleberry
Lettering: Petites - Mystical (Not pictured)

In honor of the upcoming single awareness day I thought I would do a look based on my favorite memories of Valentines, not the typical pink and hearts route. I personally have always thought candy hearts are amazingly fun, I used to always look forward to Valentines because I would get these. I actually have a picture on my phone of my favorite candy heart sayings from a box a few years ago, so I took the liberty and used those here.

First off, I know that especially up close the lettering on these seems spotty. This can be explained in a few ways, the polish I used is a bit sheer to begin with and also I was using acetone as a solvent, which try as I might dilutes the color as well.

I painted these using a fine tipped paint brush, not a specific nail art brush. To keep the polish from drying / glooping prematurely I used acetone as a brush cleanser and as a solvent.

All told, I think these are an adorable take on a valentines day nail design. Especially if you are single like me and hate being reminded of how you don't have the love of your life yet. This is a cute but still holiday inspired nail design. Hope you like it!

Here's hoping you have an astonishingly good day! And as always, DFTBA!
